About Cryptocoryne Balansae Red
If you want movement at the back of your tank, this is the plant for it. Cryptocoryne Balansae Red grows long, narrow leaves with a hammered, crinkled texture that sway gently in the flow. Under good light the leaves take on warm bronze and reddish brown tones, which look beautiful against the greens around them.
It comes from the limestone rivers and streams of Southeast Asia, so unlike a lot of aquarium plants it is perfectly happy in harder water. That makes it a great fit for many Australian tap water conditions. It is not a fast grower and it does not ask for much, which is exactly why so many aquascapers keep coming back to it.
Balansae is a heavy root feeder, so what you put under it matters more than anything else. For the best results, plant it with Jag Aquatics Advance Root Tabs pushed into the substrate near the base, and dose Jag Aquatics Complete Lite fertiliser in the water column to keep the leaves healthy and the colour rich. Once it settles in and has food at its roots, it will reward you with tall, graceful growth and new runners popping up nearby.
