Windswept Dark Indo Wood and Seiryu Small Scape
A small tank hardscape by Jag Aquatics that proves you don't need a big aquarium to create real drama. A single piece of Jag Aquatics Dark Indo Wood forms the heart of the layout, its twisted trunk rising from the left before throwing long, fine branches out to the right, like an old tree bent by years of wind on an exposed hillside.
About the build
Beneath it, a mound of Seiryu rocks gives the scape weight and structure. The larger stones sit close to the base of the wood, with their grey colour and sharp natural ridges, while smaller pieces and gravel scatter outwards to build a rugged, rocky slope. A strip of clean white sand runs along the front, opening up a calm foreground that contrasts beautifully with the dark wood and stone above it.
The result is a natural, windswept scene with plenty of room left around the branches for mosses, epiphytes and carpeting plants to grow in. It is a great example of how much character one well chosen piece of wood can bring to a compact tank.
