Third Place at the Dymax Australian National Aquascaping Competition
In March 2023 this scape earned Jag Aquatics third place at the Dymax Australian National Aquascaping Competition. Built in a Dymax C Series tank and cabinet, it sat on the show floor where visitors could see it up close, with the third place rosette proudly hanging from the glass.

A layout built on movement
Dozens of warm toned driftwood roots sweep in from both sides of the tank, twisting and curling over one another so the whole scape feels alive, like tangled roots spreading across a forest floor.
Pale grey stones are set between the wood to anchor every piece and add a cool contrast to the rich orange and brown of the roots. A band of fine sand runs along the front to keep the foreground open and clean.
Softened with plants
Plants were tucked into the gaps and crevices of the hardscape, with fresh green growth spilling over the roots and climbing up between the stones. It softens the structure and gives the layout a natural, established look.
