Outdoor Reef Arch Mega Tank
The biggest marine aquascape Jag Aquatics has ever built, designed for a client in Melbourne and set into a stunning outdoor living area. The tank is so large that the whole layout was designed and built with us standing inside it, placing every rock by hand to get the shapes exactly right.
About the build
Pale reef rock is built up into a series of huge, sweeping arches that rise and roll across the full length of the tank like breaking waves, with smaller arches tucked inside the larger ones to create layers of depth. The open arches give fish endless swim throughs and let water flow freely around the rock, while the many ledges leave room for corals to grow at every height. Framed by a green hedge and the outdoor entertaining area, it is a true centrepiece for the home.
