Forest Scape Expo Hardscape
A forest style hardscape created by Jag Aquatics for a Melbourne aquarium shop, as the centrepiece of their stand at the Pets and Aquariums Expo in 2022. Dozens of weathered driftwood roots and stumps are layered together into a dense, wild forest that rises from both sides and leans in towards the middle, with tangled roots sweeping across the base like an old woodland floor.
About the build
Dark, textured stone is packed in between the wood to anchor every piece and add contrast against the pale timber, creating real depth and a natural sense of age. Displayed out of the tank so expo visitors could see every detail up close, it shows how a forest scape is put together before it goes into the aquarium.
