Dragon Wood Expo Hardscape
A bold dragon wood hardscape created by Jag Aquatics as part of a Melbourne aquarium shop's display at the Pets and Aquariums Expo in 2022. Layered pieces of dragon wood, full of deep grooves and holes, are stacked so they all sweep the same way, giving the whole layout a strong sense of movement as if shaped by wind and water.
About the build
Dark, veined stone is set in and around the wood to add weight and contrast, and a bed of smaller stone ties everything together at the base. Built out of the tank so expo visitors could see every detail up close, it shows how the wood and stone are put together before going into an aquarium.
